• Advise on regulatory compliance for importing/exporting products between the US, Dubai, and other regions, including FDA, UAE standards, intellectual property (trademarks, patents for scents/formulas), and trade laws.
• Assist with business structuring for international expansion, such as entity formation in Dubai (e.g., free zones like DMCC or DIFC) and US-based operations.
• Provide guidance on risk management, dispute resolution, and due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures in the beauty and fragrance industry.
• Support on e-commerce legal matters, including consumer protection, data privacy (GDPR/CCPA compliance), and online sales agreements.
Requirements:
• Licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience in international business law.
• Proven expertise in US and Dubai/UAE legal frameworks, including commercial law, trade regulations, and cross-border transactions.
• Strong understanding of the fragrance, perfume, or cosmetics industry (e.g., supply chain, branding, IP in scents and formulations) – this is highly preferred to ensure tailored advice.
• Excellent communication skills for clear, actionable legal recommendations.
• Availability for virtual meetings (with potential for in-person if local to NYC metro area).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Based in or near the NYC metropolitan area (NY, NJ, CT) for easier collaboration and occasional meetings.
• Experience with Middle Eastern markets beyond Dubai, or familiarity with global beauty industry trends.
• Bilingual in English and Arabic is a plus but not required.
