Job Description
- Plan, coordinate, schedule international air shipments and domestic shipments including specialized handling of very sensitive high-technology equipment, inspection systems and parts.
- Interact with outside service providers and promptly communicate information received to various stakeholders internally and externally.
- Prepare all required shipping documents for assigned regions or customers.
- Track and Trace inbound and outbound shipments.
- Coordinate the delivery of urgent and or oversized inbound shipments to the manufacturing sites.
- Maintain department metrics.
- Office Environment- manufacturing - doing the final testing stages
- Pick up between 20-200 lbs. Normally 20-50 lbs (Mostly small packages, some boxes that are crates; have scissor lift tables, pallet jacks)
- Mostly doing clerical, creating labels and putting on the boxes and packages.

- Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

- Interacts with senior internal personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years of experience; OR
- AA degree with 5 years of experience in international shipping/traffic operations; OR
- HS Diploma with 10 years of experience and well established.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. export regulations and experience in the preparations of export shipping documentation.
- Basic knowledge of U.S. Import / Export requirements.
- Familiarity with SAP preferred.
- Hazardous Material Certified a plus.
- Working knowledge on letter of credit is preferred.
- Must have great communications skills, strong work ethic, and be able to interact with various people in the organization to achieve common goals.
- Should be analytical; being able to foresee possible issues and drive for solutions.
- Ability to exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Ability to not only multitask, but to prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to take direction from established Logistics Administrators.
- Must have strong administrative skills that will include online filing, telephone etiquette, order follow-up, and paperwork organization.
- Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Be able to anticipate questions
- Read and understand communications
- Self-Starter and proactive, prioritize
- Experience with basic tariff codes, freight terminology
- Must show experience and understands types of topics
- Background in industries - goods to be purchased or goods to be shipped
- FedEx, DHL freight carriers- constant communication, knowledge of using their online systems

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
