Job Summary:

The Export Compliance Specialist, Staff supports enterprise-wide export compliance initiatives with a focus on product and technology classification activities. This role is responsible for executing and managing export classifications for tangible and intangible items while ensuring alignment with United States and applicable global export regulations. The position works cross-functionally with engineering, program management, supply chain, and other internal teams to support compliant global business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform export classification activities for tangible and intangible exports, including data collection, analysis, documentation, and preparation of classification determinations

• Interpret and apply United States Export Administration Regulations and applicable international control regimes across the product life cycle

• Partner with engineering and program teams to assess technical characteristics of products, software, and technology for accurate export classification

• Support compliance reviews of export, re-export, and technology transfer transactions in accordance with established processes

• Provide guidance on export requirements applicable to employees, suppliers, partners, customers, and end users

• Maintain classification data, metrics, and management reporting to support compliance oversight and audits

• Utilize trade compliance and collaboration tools to support screening, tracking, and documentation activities

• Manage multiple priorities independently while meeting project deadlines and reporting progress to management

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, International Business, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field

• Minimum five years of export or sanctions compliance, international trade, or related experience

• At least two years of direct, hands-on experience in international trade and export compliance functions

• Proven hands-on experience with export classification and export control classification numbers

• Working knowledge of United States export control regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations, with emphasis on Categories three, four, and five Part one and Part two

• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint

• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with international export control regimes such as the Wassenaar Arrangement

• Familiarity with electronics, electronic assemblies, software, encryption, telecommunications, or information security controls

• Exposure to enterprise resource planning or product lifecycle management systems

Pay Range: $45– $57 per hour (depending on experience)
