Sr. Customs Entry Writer/Supervisor - Hybrid

Schedule: 3 - 4 days in office
Location: Itasca, IL 
Compensation: $65k - $85k + bonus, commission opportunities, and fully covered medical benefits

Description:

This position is a Senior/Supervisor-level role with a great Freight Forwarding company that is stable and looking to continue to grow their Customs House Brokerage team. The person in this role would have the opportunity to work closely with the Operations and Regulatory Compliance Manager. The position offers room for growth into a Management or Director-level title, great company culture, the opportunity to obtain an LCB (if don't have it already), a hybrid working schedule, and people leadership opportunities!

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate cross-functionally with the internal Sales, Operations, and Compliance teams to develop and implement Customs strategies and solutions to optimize supply chain efficiencies, minimize customs duties, and maximize customer satisfaction
• Conduct in-depth analysis of global customs regulations ensuring compliance and optimizing duty savings for clients 
• Lead a small team of Customs House Brokerage professionals
• Participate in daily Customs Entries as needed
• Analyze the customer's needs and create solutions for the consulting Compliance team to assist with

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience with Customs, Entry Writing, and experience working for a Freight Forwarding company
• Customs Broker License (LCB) is a plus, but not required
• People leadership is a plus, but not required
• Willingness to roll up their sleeves and assist with daily Entries/Clearances as needed 
• Experience with creating efficiencies and cost-saving procedures to cut entry times down
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Continuous improvement mindset
