How can you Unearth the Possibilities with Nufarm?
We are seeking a proactive Senior Import/Export Specialist (SIES) to manage the day‑to‑day import and export operations for Nufarm North America in Alsip, IL. This role is responsible for handling shipment‑related issues and adjustments, serving as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all import/export inquiries.
The SIES will drive continuous process improvements to support seamless shipping, efficient customs clearance, and overall operational excellence. Additionally, the role ensures delivery performance requirements are consistently met at the lowest landed cost, supporting both compliance and cost‑effectiveness across the supply chain.
What will you be doing?
Day-to-day operations:
Manage processes/projects
a. Work internally on process improvement. Document processes and engage/facilitate Nufarm to implement process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Serve as Customs focal point for any type of system or process changes.
b. Manage all pain points for premium incurred costs associated with delays at ports or elsewhere. Make transparent developing issues and facilitate internal Nufarm review for improvements. Measure and report scorecard on premium costs.
c. Train users on process and Customs related webtools; enabling self help where practical.
d. Bid last leg deliveries and work with Customs provider or forwarding parties to ensure delivery cost are competitive.
e. Ensure service providers perform including NA dray operations, Customs provider, and other service providers are delivering according to expectations.
f. Facilitate local resolution of compliance
What do you bring?
You bring at least two years of experience handling Dangerous Goods within a supply chain environment and two years in a Customs Coordinator role with either a customs broker or shipper. You hold a bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain and possess a solid understanding of U.S. Customs and Import Laws (CFR 19). Your intermediate Excel skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and talent for building effective business partnerships support your collaborative, team‑oriented approach. You are highly organized, detail‑driven, and proactive, consistently demonstrating initiative in your work.
What do we offer?
Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $75,900 per year in our lowest geographic market to $96,700 per year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
