Our client, an automotive software company that is a subsidiary of one of the world's largest automotive manufacturers, is hiring a software and hardware Export Specialist to join their business operations team remotely!

This company will be importing and exporting vehicle software and hardware components that will be used in production vehicles. As an Export Specialist on this team, you will research and manage the export controls process with leadership and implement an export control software solution that will improve efficiency and manage export risk.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing import and export control compliance processes and export software implementation experience.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS office applications and in particular excel
  • Proficient with using Teams
  • Knowledge of requirements for Export Control topics
  • Import HTS classifications
  • Exporting ECCN classification
  • Experience with commodity classification requests - CCATs
  • End-to-end Export Control Compliance tickets
  • Experience with project management relating
  • Knowledge of auditing standards
  • Critical thinking around export topics

Desired:

  • Compliance importing and export control software and hardware requirements
  • Writing CAPA’s
  • Confluence proficiency
  • Proficient in JIRA Service Management

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law or a comparable field

Education Desired

  • Certified export control
  • Implementation export control software experience
  • Experience working with the BIS or other governing bodies

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with leadership, business unit managers, and employees for the collection of data related to export control topics
  • Lead and or work closely on the implementation of export control software
  • In close collaboration with the Director of Compliance and Risk Management implement E2E process
  • Providing internal consultations around export control processes
  • Answering JSM Confluence tickets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into actionable solutions
  • Prepare and maintain records for export operations, progress and activities
  • Collaboration – ability to build successful relationships throughout the organization as well as with the relevant stakeholders
  • Develop materials for distribution to all employees to enhance awareness of export control topics
  • Assist with the identification, measurement, management, and reporting of risks, countermeasures, and management controls relating to export control
  • Ad hoc tasks, incl. preparation of ad hoc analyses
