Description

Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking to hire an Export Control Analyst to join the Safeguards and Security team. This position will report to the Director of Safeguards and Security.



Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with NNSA, Commerce, State, NRC,  and Treasury regulations.
  • Identify, classify, and control export‑controlled data, software, equipment, and technology across engineering, procurement, technology transfers.
  • Maintain required export control documentation and records.
  • Provide guidance on deemed exports, national foreign access, site access controls, and Technology Control Plans (TCPs).
  • Conduct assessments and audits; recommend and track corrective actions.
  • Deliver training and awareness programs for project teams and contractors.

     

  • Monitor regulatory changes and update project procedures accordingly.
  • Reviews technical data, foreign collaborations, and contracts with foreign vendors to determine export classifications and licensing requirements.
  • Develops and maintains compliance records management.
  • Develops, maintains, and implements Export Control training.

     

  • Performs Restricted Party Screening.

     

  • Ensures internal and external compliance audits are completed.
  • Handles calls, requests, and inquiries.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, International Trade, Law, Business, Supply Chain, or related field; science or engineering degree preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in export control, trade compliance, or regulatory compliance, ideally in nuclear, defense, or other highly regulated sectors.

     

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical controls.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and leadership teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple licensing and compliance activities.
  • Experience supporting large, multi‑discipline or high‑security projects.

     

  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined in Code of Federal Regulation or able to acquire a license from the Departments of State, Commerce, or Treasury.
  • Must be Eligible for a U.S. government security clearance if required for access to controlled research, technology, and software.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (ECoP, CES, CUSECO, etc.) preferred.
  • Active DOE Clearance
