Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for leading the Trade Compliance and Logistics organization at VSE Aviation’s Distribution Segment. This includes overseeingĀ andĀ leading our global logistics strategy, transportation network, and trade compliance policy and operations reporting directly to the segment P&L leader. This leader will ensure adherence to trade regulations, managing compliance frameworks, and leading the organization to mitigate risks associated with international trade.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall functional responsibility over the Trade Compliance and Logistics organization.
  • Develop and execute the global logistics and trade compliance strategy and policies, aligning with the business and supply chain objectives.
  • Oversee the Global Trade Compliance team, fostering a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and accountability within the organization.
  • Create and implement trade compliance policies, framework for import/export activities and procedures, enhancing internal controls and managing trade compliance matters.
  • Proactively assess compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that the organization operates within legal boundaries.
  • Implement training programs for employees on trade compliance, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Lead optimization of inbound and outbound freight activity, including shipment consolidation, mode selection, and cost efficiency/negotiations.
  • Manage global budgets for freight, duties, and packaging costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Ā 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent level professional accreditation.
  • 10+ years of deep and progressive experience in trade compliance and logistics.
  • Expert knowledge of import-export regulations and compliance laws. Proven ability to work collaboratively with regulators and business partners.
  • 5+ years of direct people leadership experience across global locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-site teams, with a record of making impactful decisions and driving change.
  • Demonstrated success driving freight optimization, and compliance improvements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional and executive teams.
  • Ability to travel to global VSE facilities.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, MBA, or equivalent level Quality/Compliance accreditation.
  • 7+ years of aviation related trade compliance and logistics experience.
  • Expert Compliance and/or Risk Management accreditations.
  • Knowledge of Quantum Control Software.
