HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Customs & Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and directing corporate import and export activities across the U.S. and Canada, enabling best practices and efficiency while ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory agencies.
This is a hybrid position based near Atlanta, GA.
EXPECTATIONS
- Develop and manage customs compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Oversee import and export activities across U.S. and Canadian operations
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess business impact and drive strategy
- Lead HTS classification across the parts database for duty accuracy
- Manage broker and service provider compliance and timeliness
- Maintain C-TPAT certification program
- Communicate complex trade related issues across all levels
- Build trade metrics and KPIs
- Represent the company to CBP and other agencies on import and export matters
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments, develop corrective action plans
- Lead and develop the Customs team building best in class practices
ESSENTIALS
- Bachelor's degree required
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or CCS preferred
- 10+ years’ customs & trade compliance experience in automotive industry
- Expert knowledge of U.S. & Canadian customs regulations; HS classification, COO, Valuation, FTA
- Experience managing C-TPAT program and Foreign Trade Zone Operations
- Knowledge of PGA requirements including EPA, DOT, DOC, FCC, FDA, and FWS
- Proficiency with SAP, ACE, and GTMS – OneSource preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Technical acumen and data analytics
